New SI Ferry SSG Michael H. Ollis Christened
The first new vessel for cross-harbor service in 16 years was christened earlier this month. The Staten Island Ferry, SSG MICHAEL H. OLLIS is one of three new boats of this class to go into service. Some positive news from the Lake Carriers Association: Cleveland, OH – Shipments of iron ore from U.S. ports on the Great Lakes totaled 5.4 million tons in September, an increase of 38.8 percent compared to a year ago.
