The Masters, Mates & Pilots Union thanks the delegates of last week’s Alaska AFL-CIO Convention for adopting a Resolution reaffirming their strong support for the Jones Act. The Resolution, submitted by Lars Turner, MM&P Secretary-Treasurer, emphasized the fact that “the U.S. domestic fleet provides significant and cost-effective national security benefits in peace and in time of war” and called on the delegates to denounce efforts to weaken or repeal the Jones Act as detrimental to the American maritime workforce, America’s economy and America’s national security.
