LONGTIME MM&P OFFICIAL AND MASTER MARINER STEVEN WERSE INDUCTED INTO SUNY MARITIME COLLEGE HERITAGE HALL

October 23rd 2019

Former MM&P International Secretary-Treasurer Steven Werse has been inducted into SUNY Maritime College Heritage Hall for his professional achievements and outstanding support of the college.

He received the honor on the occasion of the 40th reunion of his graduating class, the SUNY Maritime Class of ’79.

“Steve has been a wonderful friend to the college over the course of many years,” said Rear Adm. Michael Alfultis, president of the college, who presented him with the award.

“For several decades, he mentored hundreds of mariners. He has been an instructor, a guest lecturer and a participant in numerous campus events.”

Alfultis took the opportunity to thank Steve and MM&P “for being a generous host, on many occasions, to SUNY Maritime cadets.”

Heritage Hall was created by the SUNY Maritime Class of October 1946 as a 50th reunion gift to the College.

The hall was created to preserve the unique history of Maritime College, to honor those outstanding alumni whose dedication, leadership and significant contributions have positively impacted the State University of New York Maritime College.

Please join all of us at MM&P in congratulating Steve Werse on this wonderful recognition.

“We are proud of you, Steve!”
